So I was reading Ax Young's blog... the Consequence of Sound

http://consequenceofsound.com/2008/02/13/the-police-arrest-costello/#more-680

and noticed something spectacular.  The Police are rumored to go on one final run in the US before calling it quits for good.  They will be bringing Elvis Costello on this last leg of their tour.  There are rumors that their last show will be August 4 in New York.  They are also rumored to play Chicago some leg of their journey.  Could the Police be playing Lollapalooza on Aug. 1-2-3?  I think it's a decent possibility... and would be something great if it's going to be their second to last show ever.

Tour dates will officially be announced tomorrow.  What do you guys all think?

Since we have all of this Radiohead hoopla... imagine The Police and Radiohead headlining Lolla... and Lolla will officially win festival-of-the-year award.

Now if their last show ever was Lollapalooza?  That'd be badass.

I didn't hear good things about their US stint last year. Not interested.

I posted that! Haha.

Don't listen to the naysayers here. They would be an excellent closer, but they already did Bonnaroo and they're already booked for NY on Aug 4.

I'm going to two shows before they're gone.. at least.

DO NOT WANT

they're really not good live anymore. And that would bump Radiohead to a 90 minute slot.

I would much rather see Costello. He blew Dylan off stage playing solo acoustic when I saw them last year.

Want. (Also, I would love a KC date, I could take my Mom for her birthday; two of her favorite artists!)

They're sure as hell better than Jack Johnson.

I would definitely much rather see Costello than the Police.
If the Police headline, i'll actually make it home in time to actually work on that Monday...who wants that?

Yeah, but you'd also rather see Collective Soul and Third Eye Blind.
