I know for a fact that this has been posted elsewhere but I really could care less about the double post right now. By just looking at their Tour Schedule and seeing as though they won't be at Coachella, The Foo Fighters will be headlining, I'm gonna say, Saturday night at Lolla in 2008. They will be in Chicago plenty of time before August and will be looking to make a 2nd round of the states come late summer.

Also, if you live in Chicago and get Channel 209 there are a bunch of live concerts by Foo, RHCP, Green Day, Ryan Adams, and more on there

They'd better not headline sunday.

Nope, that's saved for Radiohead. I promise

Thank you.

Actually, it'd be cool if they went up against someone like Arcade Fire or the Flaming Lips maybe.

Foo Fighters aren't playing Baltimore-DC according to that schedule.  I guess that means they are playing the Virgin Festival.  Either that or they are going to announce more shows.  The Philly show and the New York show excludes them from Vineland.

I don't know where Rosemont is.  But if it is close to Chicago then they won't be playing Lolla.

I agree about Virgin Fest.

What about those dates makes you so certain that Foo Fighters are playing?

i wish the foo fighters would just play a couple nights at the aragon rather than allstate, there no bigger then the white stipes, and i would like to see them live but i cant get to the rosement, and i doubt they can put that many people in the allstate even with the great openers they got

You do realize that the lineup you're reffering to is not real.

The Allstate Arena is accessible by public transportation, so what's your problem?

Take the CTA blue line to the River Road Station.  At the River Road station, there is a PACE bus that goes to the door of the Allstate Arena.

Until I got my car in 1999, using the CTA was how I got to the then Rosemont Horizon.  Otherwise, I would never have been able to see concerts like Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band, Bruce Springsteen, Deep Purple, and the original Kiss in make-up.

I think you may be right. It'll be interesting. I wonder who would play opposite. I've just never pictured the Foo as either a.) a headlining band or b.) a festival band, save for their work in Europe.

I know they can headline, but they never really came to mind, especially for Lollapalooza.

And as far as I know, Zeppelin WILL be at Bonnaroo. These rumors now are so parallel to last year's speculation with The Police, I wouldn't be surprised at the slightest if they play.

Me too. Though I'm not a big fan of the Congress Theater OR the Aragon. I'd rather them play the Riviera or kick it old school and play the Metro. I hate the idea of schlepping out to Rosemont for the show, but my girlfriend snatched tickets for me for Hannukah.

I feel exactly the opposite. Their shows, even moreso than their albums, are pure arena rock. PERFECT for large outdoor festivals. Unfortunately, I feel like they are way past their prime songwriting-wise, so I get less and less enthusiastic about seeing them again.

Kudos for not telling your being-onstage-with-Dave story yet again. That was you, right?

Haha.. I was right there with him. I agree they can do festivals, but I just don't see them there. It's weird. I just always pegged them as arena rockers.

I think Carligula's point (and I agree with him in theory) is arena rockers tend to make for good festival fodder. You know, as long as they fit in the general theme (i.e. - Bon Jovi at Lolla would be a horrific mismatch).

Haha. I just spilled water.

Yeah, I see his point and agree somewhat, but I still can't see the Foo Fighters being a Lolla band, or even a US festival band, especially as a headliner. They are great, don't get me wrong. I'm partial to Grohl from Nirvana, but to me, I think would be a disappointing headliner for many.

To me? I'd watch gladly.
